About Me

IMG_7743 (1)I’m Julie Gabrielle Anne, and my laptop Nightwing and I conspire together late at night or around midday in front of the television with Elementary to write about everything from mutant goldfish to event riders to twins.

I’ve been writing since I was an annoying little girl. I like writing novels best of all, but I’m not a horrible poet or essayist, and I also write short stories that oftentimes turn into novellas because I’m long-winded.

I currently live in Virginia and attend Hollins University’s MFA in Creative Writing program.

California is my birth state, but I’m a Tennessee girl now. I say y’all and am proud of it.

Besides writing, I love riding horses. I’m an eventer, groom, and enthusiast. I’m an avid reader and I love music of all kinds, even some country. I’m a huge movie fan and I’ll watch Pirates of the Caribbean, the Bourne Trilogy, and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron all day long. I also enjoy looking up words in other languages and watching Korean dramas.

Some other things about me: I believe in God. I wear a size 11 1/2 sneaker. My birthday is in August and my birthstone is the peridot. I like Justin Bieber’s music and do not approve of haters. My favorite color is purple. My greatest fear is of a little kid slamming his/her finger in a door, I kid you not. My favorite foods are fried pork chops/chicken and barbecue bacon cheddar burgers. I prefer whiskey over beer, and brownies over cupcakes.

    1. I don’t mind you asking at all. I kind of shy away from stereotypes where religion is concerned. Basically, I believe in heaven, hell, Jesus, the resurrection, good angels and fallen angels and being born again – all that fun stuff. :)

  1. Hi, I was on inkpop the other day when I stumbled upon your story, snow. Please don’t get upset that I’m sending this message through this website, for my inkpop account is no longer working correctly. I would just like to tell you that I love that story! It was so orginal. I’m glad I read it. Are you planing on adding more to the story?I hope you are. :)I’m sorry for sending this to you through a comment oh here, instead of a comment on your story snow. Thank you for your time. :)

    1. Hey, Kayla! I’m glad you loved it – and of course I’m not upset you sent me a message on here! I’m not sure what’s going to happen with Snow. I started writing it with the intention of making it a full-length novel, but I’m kind of fond of it as a longish short story, too. Whatever I end up doing with it, I’ll try to keep you updated on here! :D

  2. You are from Tennessee too? No way! i live in Tennessee, I’m not a hick either, and I spend my time on the lake too! Well in the summer I do, but then again it is like 60 degrees today and is going to be 70 sometime in the coming days.

    1. Hey, fellow Tennesseean! I absolutely love spending hot days on the lake. I went water-skiing for the first time last year and had the time of my life. I faceplanted a couple of times, too! Haha.

      1. I remember doing that like two or three summers ago and yeah I had the same experience. Only wakeboarding hurt a lot worse and i’m still struggling with it. Hopefully this summer will be the year!

  3. Gabby! (If you don’t mind me calling you that… xD)
    There’s a new Inkpop!
It’s called Hexbound, and basically an ex-inkie was sad Inkpop shut down, and so he made another website replicating it.
It was only recently published, so it’s still new/doesn’t have many projects.
But you can check it out:
